Welcome

The Museum of Wildlife, Science, and Industry of Northeastern South Dakota is located in Webster, SD. The Museum was incorporated into a not-for profit organization in October of 1985. The purpose of the museum is to preserve the culture and heritage of Northeastern South Dakota for future generations to enjoy and from which to learn.  We have 23 buildings--11 new and 12 historic.

"Bringing the past to the present...."

Welcome

Walk back in time and relive a part of the past.  You'll swear it's the late 1800's as you walk thru our original buildings stocked full of original vintage furniture, supplies, and equipment.  These original restored structures are furnished and outfitted with the artifacts of the period.

When you visit, you get a taste of frontier life during the past century in South Dakota. As you walk in and among the buildings you'll feel like a pioneer on Main Street.

See dozens of cars from 1919 - 53.  Admire the creftsmanship of antique tractors that are often shown only in professional shows.  Stop by the blacksmith, the barbershop, or the country store.  Pray at the 1881 Mission Church, or get into trouble and check out the jail.  Send mail from the post office, learn at the school, or rest easy taking in the pioneer farmhouses.  If all that sparks your interest, know that it just scratches the surface of the rich, cultural hidden treasures you will find here.

Our Museum will provide you with an entire day of fun filled activity. A tour through all our facilities will thrill all age groups. Kids love the museum, and they get a great taste of American history at the same time. Don’t plan on spending just an hour or two . . . you won’t be able to see it all.
